Brilliant training performance see's Scarlet Return sensationally to the winner circle

What a tremendous return to racing by our sensational, flashy looking filly Scarlet Rain, winning the 8th race on Saturday at Rosehill in a display of sheer talent and toughness. Her loyal and passionate owners were in awe and tears after watching their dearly loved filly salute first up after, over 10 months on the sidelines due to throat issue.

Ridden exceptionally well by Tim Clark, Scarlet Rain took up her customary spot in the lead before being softened up in front. On straightening it looked as if the long stint on the sidelines may make it difficult for Scarlet Rain to burn the candle at both ends so to speak however trained to the minute by Gai Waterhouse, Adrian Bott and Tulloch Lodge team, Scarlet Rain had other ideas and showed that she wasn't just a speedy 2YO stakes winning filly but now a complete race filly with heart and substance.

It was Scarlet's Rain best win of her career due to the circumstances keeping her from racing and the win also signaled that she is back to her best and ready to take on the Stakes races for 3YO's.

This win was a huge tick for the training partnership of Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott as they hatched a very precise plan to take things along quietly and slowly with Scarlet Rain, due to her throat issues discovered in her failure in the Golden Slipper last year. The plan was to start again, take all the gear off, get her to relax, to feel comfortable and enjoying her racing. It all came together on Saturday, after 3 solid trials, Scarlet Rain was fit, happy and ready to fire and she didn't let us down.

Scarlet Rain has now had 5 starts for 4 wins including the Group 2 Sweet Embrace stakes. Her only failure was in the 2016 Golden Slipper where she pulled up with a blocked airway.

This is one very special filly and hopefully Scarlet Rain can continue to rise through the ranks and give all her passionate owners more thrills on the track.

Congratulations to her owners
