Group I winner Samadoubt is back on deck at Warwick Farm as trainer Bjorn Baker begins to plot an early autumn assault with his tough campaigner.
The son of Not A Single Doubt arrived back in Baker’s stable this week after enjoying a short spell at the end of a successful spring.
Samadoubt caused one of the biggest Group I boilovers in recent years during the spring when saluting at $41 in the Winx Stakes.
He went on to add a Group II Chelmsford Stakes (1600m) to his name and Baker hopes to enjoy more success with the six-year-old in the New Year.
“He looks great and we’re excited to have him back,” Baker said.
“We want to hit the ground running with him and hopefully get the jump on them.”
Baker said Samadoubt could make his return as early as the Group II Expressway Stakes (1200m) on February 1 at Rosehill.
The Warwick Farm trainer said the stable had a number of different options in mind for Samadoubt, including the Group I Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington in March.
