Australia's Champion Sire of 2017, 2018 & 2019, Snitzel continues to make a spectacular impact on Australian racing & breeding, setting new benchmarks of performance as a world-class sire.
Snitzel won his first General Sires’ Premiership in 2016/17 with record Australian earnings of $16.2 million, joining Danehill & Redoute’s Choice to complete Australia’s only three-generation sequence of Champion Sires. The 2YO & 3YO Sires’ categories belonged to him too, and he headed all three lists by Winners, Stakeswinners & Stakes Wins. Snitzel’s 2016/17 tally of 26 Australian stakeswinners equalled Danehill’s record and his season total of 35 juvenile winners is a new mark.
The following season in 2017/18, Snitzel smashed his own earnings record to claim his second General Premiership with the staggering total of $29.2 million, repeated his dominance of the 3YO & 2YO Sires' lists and once again compiled 26 Australian stakeswinners, including Group 1 winners Trapeze Artist, Redzel, Estijaab & Russian Revolution.
