Another Stakes performer for Darby Racing and Snitzel

Saturday saw the running of the 3YO Group 3 Winslow Group Stakes with our very own daughter by Snitzel, named ATHENA LASS, lining up at just her 2nd start.

Coming off a terrific win on debut at Moonee Valley, Athena Lass piloted by Corey Parish, sent the speedy Snitzel filly straight to the front in the prestigious event. Half way down the straight, Athena Lass looked home however the early work told and she just tired late to be collared on the line by I Am A Star. Athena Lass ran a gallant 3rd beaten just 0.3 of a length and earning herself valuable black type for her pedigree page in the process.

Trained at Lindsay Park by David Hayes, Tom Dabernig & Ben Hayes, Athena Lass has always showed plenty on the track. Athena Lass will now be set for the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes, run at Moonee Valley on the 3rd of September. With more experience under her belt and the tight Moonee Valley track, she looks to be another great chance.
