Caballus — the five-year-old gelding by I Am Invincible — stamped himself as one of the in-form sprinters of the moment on Saturday at Doomben Racecourse, delivering a dazzling performance to take out the BRC George Moore Stakes (Group III, 1200m).

With top weight of 60 kg and under reins of jockey Tommy Berry, Caballus jumped strongly, took control early and never looked back — crossing the line three lengths clear of his rivals in a slick 1:07.84 — just shy of the course record.
Trainer Bjorn Baker (through stable representative Jim Clarke) admitted their vision didn’t go exactly to plan, but acknowledged that Caballus had found the lead “fairly easily” after jumping well.
This victory continues a fine run — Caballus had previously won the Group III VRC Rising Fast Stakes (1200m) at Flemington, and now boasts six wins from 18 starts with career prizemoney nearing $1 million.
Raced by Coolmore and partners initially, Caballus was a $1million Inglis Easter purchase for Tom Magnier from the Bhima Thoroughbreds draft and was broken in and educated at Coolmore.
He was then offered through Inglis Digital in October 2023 when bought by Darby Racing for $315,000.

Looking ahead, connections are quietly ambitious: with Caballus now on the radar, the team sees potential autumn and winter targets — possibly even a tilt at a Group 1 Lightning Spring up the straight of Flemington in 2026
Congratulations to all his owners, Bjorn Baker and all his hard working staff
