More maiden success for Darby Racing NIGHTHAWK & ULTIMATE FANTASY

With the euphoria of winning another Group 1 on the weekend with Yankee Rose, we kept the loud cheers going for Nighthawk and Ultimate Fantasy both breaking their maidens in the last 2 days.

Nighthawk, sensationally named, by Jet Spur, broke his maiden at the Sunshine Coast yesterday with the greatest of ease for trainer Stuart Kendrick and Damian Browne. After nearly throwing the race away at the start and breaking into a minor buck, Nighthawk settled back 3rd last before being guided along the fence, gaining an inside run on the bend and shooting to the front to score impressively.

Congratulations to all his owners!

Ultimate Fantasy was next to break her maiden at Tamworth today for new trainer GREG BENNETT. Ultimate Fantasy was originally trained in Sydney by Marc Conners and whilst running some nice races just needed time to produce her best. The Darby Racing office went wild as we love winning a race anywhere.

Her maiden win today was very pleasing for all concerned, after sitting very wide for the entire 1400m journey, jockey Grant Buckley took off early right around the field to go on and score a comprehensive win. We would like to thank all the patient owners and trainer Greg Bennett.

A special mention goes out to the Johnson family - Mathew Johnson who purchased a share in this filly a couple of years ago, passed away and the share is now raced by the family.

Darby Racing would like to dedicate this win to in memory of Mathew.
