A sad day with the passing of LITTLE FIGHTER
A fantastic weekend of great results for Darby Racing was quickly soured with the news that 'Little Fighter', trained by Stuart Kendrick on the Sunshine Coast, had to be euthanized after competing in the
class 3 1200m race ridden by apprentice Tiffany Brooker on Sunday.
LITTLE FIGHTER – Faltered and broke down in the early stages of the home straight. The veterinary surgeon reported that horse had fractured its near fore sesamoid and was subsequently euthanased on humane grounds.
Apprentice Tiffany Brooker was extremely upset as she had ridden her in many starts including a huge 8 length win to break her maiden.
Darby Racing and owners were deeply sadened of the news but will remember the tough bay mare by Myboycharlie for her fighting qualities. She was a courageous filly winning twice and finishing in the top 5, 13 times in her 20 starts.
Named after the White Lion song 'Little Fighter' which written about a Greenpeace boat named "Rainbow Warrior" which was destroyed by the French.
