Darby Racing on FIRE at the Warwick Farm trials
We were left speechless after a hot morning at the Warwick Farm trials saw Darby Racing win 3 heats, one of which was our Golden Slipper favourite filly 'She Will Reign' , not only did she win her heat by 9 lengths BUT run 45 seconds flat something the clockers had never seen before at Warwick Farm.
She Will Reign looks to have improved from her first racing preparation where she almost broke the track record on debut at Kembla, winning by 8 1/2 lengths before demolishing a strong Inglis Nursery field by 4 lengths. She Will Reign was given 12 days in the paddock to mentally refresh and after her hit out this morning, looks right on target for the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes run at Rosehill on the 18th of February. She Will Reign looks one very, very special filly in the making.
Although She Will Reign stole the limelight, our horses continued to sizzle, including a solid victory by Postmaster General in Heat 7. Trained by rising star Mark Newnham, Postmaster General has one win and 3 placings to his name from just 5 starts and looks set for a big preparation.
We unleashed yet another 2YO filly when the Gabrielle Englebrecht trained Mileage took out Heat 12 by 4 1/2 lengths. Mileage, by Hinchinbrook, couldn't have been more impressive when green around the turn but once asked to lengthen by jockey Kathy O'Hara, ran away to win her heat most impressively.
Mileage will be given her chance to win a race in a couple of weeks time and depending on the result, may make a late push to be part of the 2017 Golden Slipper.
Our 4th to trial this morning was the debutante 'She's All Spirit' a filly by All American, this well related filly gave a sight out in front in heat 10, before tiring late to beaten just 1.3 lengths. She's All Spirit will no doubt improve out of sight with the hit out and will look to trial again in the next 2 weeks.
A great morning of trials and I look forward to seeing them at the races over the coming weeks!
