Star Sensation delivers at Canterbury

Star Sensation rewarded trainer Mark Newnham and connections with a win at Canterbury last Friday evening. Rider Blake Shinn was more than happy to take over reins on Friday as he had trialled the filly at her two recent trials where she won, then a close second behind the smart Group III winner White Moss.

The lightly race three year-old Star Witness filly improved sharply from her first up effort here just over three weeks ago to record her second career win from as many starts.

Blake allowed the filly to use the inside draw to her advantage kicking up to place some early pressure on the leader (Madonnica) who he didn't want her to get a soft run through the race. Once they were allowed to settle and take up there positions, she tracked the leader beautifully throughout the run until it was time to stake her claim for victory.

Blake commented after the race she handle the ground well, strong through the line and does have a bright future. The stable will now look to see how the filly has come through the race to see where she may be seen at her next start.

Congratulations to all her owners
