The Choisir filly will head to Group III B.J McLachlan Stakes 2YO (1200m) on December 28 second-up after being beaten by Farnan in the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic on Thursday.
“She pulled up having a good blow and that’s probably expected being that far out from her grand final,” Newnham said.
“I think she needed the run. Once Farnan got control of the race outside the leader he was going to be hard to get past.
“She peaked on her run 80-100m out but she pulled up well.
“A good 1200m in two weeks time will have her peaking on Magic Millions day.”
Every Rose is a $6 second elect to take out the $2 million Magic Millions Classic, with the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Farnan now $5 favourite after $51 was offered before Thursday's win.
