Samadoubt Retires
Sad news to break last week regarding our popular Group 1 winner, Samadoubt. Unfortunately, he re-injured his tendon and was subsequently scratched from the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Darby Racing and the ownership group have since made the decision to retire Samadoubt following an incredible career.
Samadoubt showed early promise running in the Breeders Plate before Christmas of his 2yo year. He broke his maiden at Kembla Grange as a 3yo and subsequently worked his way through the grades. A consistent city class horse who later broke through to win the Listed Canberra Cup in a two-length romp.
He then came back fitter and stronger than ever to win the Group 1 Winx Stakes at 40-1 before proving them all wrong and backing it up by winning the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes.
Samadoubt has found a lovely home with Taylor from Wild Oaks who has spent plenty of time with Sammy over the years when spelling at the farm. He will have full use of all the rehabilitation facilities to help him recover before becoming a pleasure horse.
